I have been reading like mad for the past few days. I have read WhyChat's HIPPA page over and over and I have searched other posts to see if I can figure out what to do. I am confused.

I have been contacted by a CA for a medical bill. Either I overlooked the dunning letter with the OC's name on it or the CA is trying to be slick and never sent me one. The letter I received is saying that I own $161 and they have previously informed me months ago about this debt. There is no OC on this letter at all. They never threated to sue but went on and on about putting it on my credit reports. It is a medical debt from 2005
It is showing only on my TU CR. That is the only way I knew it was a medical collection.
I have 4 medical collections on my CR's. total.

I have opted out and have just sent my requests to delete addresses. I will wait for those before I go to another step.

Here is where I am confused. After I get the info on my deleted addresses do I send the CA that has contacted me this first? (I am willing to pay this debt.)
http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcavalhipaa.html

or do I send the CRA's this first for all of the medical collections?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You!

If you have opted out and sent your request to remove old addresses, then you should send CRA's the initial dispute letter,
http://whychat.5u.com/hipaadisp.html
at the SAME TIME you should send the TU reporting and corresponding CA this:
http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcavalhipaa.html
You should NOT even THINK of "paying" any scum scam CA a RED CENT just because they are asking for $$

.IF there is the remotest possibility that any accounts are NOT deleted from any CRA and any CA responds with the verifiable information as to whom the OC health care provider was, the date of service and the patient name , and it matches YOUR records, you can then PAY the OC health care provider with the HIPAA letter insert "a".

Be very careful when sending the initial dispute letters to each CRA that you list ONLY those accounts that are on THAT CRA report.
If any CRA "verifies, but you have NOT received any account data from the reporting CA then send each CA this:
http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcavalhipaa.html
and follow up with this;

Thank you so much WhyChat for your quick response. I appreciate it very much. I have read where you have posted to never pay a CA. I wouldn't give them a penny...lol
I just meant that I am willing to pay the OC. Sorry, I didn't make that clear. I will follow your advice to the letter.
Thank you for all you do to help us here!
