Does ING use chexsystems..... I am in the Ohio/N. Kentucky area and am looking for a bank.... I was thinking about ING. Any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure about Chex, but keep in mind they *do* pull a credit report for the Electric Orange and decision based on that.

Hopefully someone else can give the Chex answer...

I know they don't pull chex when opening a savings, but I don't think they pull it even when opening a checking, but they do check credit for opening the OLOC. MCA would know more than me for sure.

I've spoken directly with a rep there. I've got one of their Orange savings accounts. Well, several really, because once you're in you can create named "sub accounts" online with a click. Very cool for budgeting.

They do not pull Chex for anything. They do, however, pull a credit report for the Electric Orange checking account. I was declined, twice. They claim that the EO account is tied directly into overdraft protection, so if your credit precludes you from getting that, you can't have the account.

The customer service people I've talked to are friendly, informed and genuinely want to help. Love ING. But the guy explained that there was zero way around the issue.

with ING you also must have a pre-existing checking account in order to get the Electric Orange account. many are approved and some are denied due to credit related issues. I have both a savings and checking with them and I love it because for me it is convenient with my direct deposit. ALLPOINT ATMs are free.

Smiles.. what is your zip code? And does your chexsystems report show fraud?
