Strange the same companies that forbid them in the U.S. want ID checks there.

Full Version: Using credit, debit cards? Carry photo ID
I've used credit cards in over 15 countries and only in the U.S. have I EVER been asked for ID (except for checking into a hotel which would usually require ID regardless of payment method)
Quite possibly, the banks are not aware of MC and Visa rules. It seems that many people are not.
Only country I have ever been asked for ID in is the United States of America.
