five years ago my client deposited a check in her TCF account. not knowing her cousin that has the same last name wrote her a check from the wrong account this one was closed.when she left the branch they called and told her the check she tried to deposit was no good. they never made the deposit into her account they told her she need to contact the maker on the check. TCF closed her account due to this mistake. just six months ago she found out she's in the system for fraud from that transaction at TCF. will they remove her from chex because it's been five years even though it was reported as fraud.also will she be in EWS.

Chexsystems will remove all reports after 5 years even if they state fraud. If it is still there, she should send in a letter to chexsystems and request removal for this reason. EWS is like any other credit reporting agency, they will not remove for 7 years. If she is reported to EWS, she would have to file a dispute with them to attempt removal

Hello mca! This is excellent news, i had inquired about this on your other forum, chexvictims.net, for which i need to thank it and you for my Current Transportation Alliance Bank account, they are the Best!!!

So, in my attempt to open the account at Cooper State, i found i had 4 Unpaid Account Closures, may or may not have stated Fraud. THEY WOULD NOT EVEN LET ME KEEP MY OWN REPORT!!! - So even these 4 will fall off 5 years after the date of whenever they posted in 2007?

--And did Cooper State checking this put me on EWS? Or am I "Chex Only"?

Also, the entries "May Not" Automatically fall off?

I see nothing on my Credit Report about ANY of these banks, NOR my new addresses, and i wish to keep it this way.

Joseph,
You're welcome and yes I think I recall your situation. Didn't you also open a business checking with Transportation Alliance Bank? If so, can you please tell me if they accept e-deposits? Someone has asked me that recently about them and I had no idea.

You can get a FREE copy of your chexsystems report at www.chexhelp.com I am not sure why they would not let you have a copy of it at least. Sounds crazy to me. But anymore, nothing is shocking when it comes to chexsystems issues.

Yes they will be removed after they are 5 years old. Do they automatically fall off?? They are supposed to be removved YES but there are times that they are not and in that case you have to send chexsystems a letter requesting that they be removed due to the 5 year mark.

As far as being reported to EWS, it would depend on which banks show the closures. Some banks use chexsystems and others use chexsystems and EWS. It really depends on which banks reported. Cooper State would not haev reported you at all just because they denied you an account. Cooper state would only show as an inquiry being made on your report.
