Is there a way to have the collection fees waived after completing the rehab? Has anyone ever heard of this being done?
Jaymes
Mine were waived as part of rehab. I thought that was the one of the benefits of rehabbing. did you get a letter/agreement from DOE? I had to call them to get the agreement, so you may want to do that.

If I'm not mistaken, that's only true for rehabbing Direct Loans, not FFELP loans.

Mine is an FFEL. I don't know if that's any different.

Correct, only Direct Loans will waive the collection fees. FFELP lenders do not.
