Going back to school already have a Bachelors trying to get into nursig program. Since I have a degree most 99% fiancial aid is not available to me...only loans. Stafford loan will be maxed out and I need addtional loan forliving expenses so I dont have to work while getting nursing degree, which is almost imposible while working.

Working on getting credit fixed, anyone know what I need to get my score up to and who is has easier credit for student loans, yeah I know no one has easy credit. Oh yeah I am 40 so the parent loan wont work. I might be able to find a cosigner but not 100% possitive and I am not sure of thier credit history.

Hi B_fennel,

Have you had any luck on finding a good private lender? I am looking for one for the same reason as you!

Any info will be appreciated!

Thanks!

I'm in a similar situation. Even though I have a BS degree, I'm considered a 5th Yr Undergrad at Columbia University's Postbaccalaureate Studies program, so i can still get $12,500 in stafford loans for the year, but I still need $6k to make up for tuition and fees as a part-time student.

I don't have great credit, but I'm working on it. From what I've heard the best options are Citi Assist loan (no good for me, though because debt to income needs to be under $45k and my student loans are higher than that), Wells Fargo (not sure of the name of the loan, but a little research on their website should help), Sallie Mae, and I also tried US Bank because I was approved by them my sophomore year of undergrad when I had little/bad credit.

My TU (which sallie mae, wells fargo, and us bank pulled) is 650, and Wells Fargo said that was "okay" But they couldn't approve me because I have a paid collection from 3 yrs 10 months ago. Trying to get it removed, but not expecting great rates even if I do.
