I was being added as an authorized signer for a non-profit account and was denied. They said I was reported on Chex System for an account from 2007 for $22.54.
I honestly don't know anything about this but I don't want to waste time disputing anything and want to limit the embarassment of anyone at the charity hearing about this.
I am willing to pay the $22.54 - how do I go about doing this and how quickly would it come off of chexsystem?

Too late to keep this to myself.... they just called another member and told her they were unable to add me to the account.
I am so embarassed and I don't even know what is on this report.

Once you are in ChexSystems, it will stay there for five years regardless of whether it's paid or not. You should order your ChexSystem report (they have a website with a phone number you can call to order the report) to see what is on there. You can dispute items just like a regular credit report.
DO NOT pay it. paying it will not remove you and will cause you to remain on chexsystems for 5 years from the date it was paid. You first need to know what this is by getting a free cpopy of your report at www.chexhelp.com
by the way.. what bank denied you an account for 22.00??? UNREALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
