Lets take a spin at this one. I just switched car insurance and upped my limits for coverage, yet I'm still saving $40/month.


I got the policy details today, lo and behold they charge $4/month to have automatic credit card payments and only $1/month to have automatic EFT payments.

I'll report them to the good ole Maine Department of Consumer Credit Protection and get this fee removed within a month. They'll learn!

The money you are not saving with Geico. Sorry coundnt resist.

Old insurance: $74.98/month + 3.50 in person or mailed payment fee

GEICO: $43.80/month + $4 to pay via CC

Still saving money, and about to save even more(after this fee is gone).

FARMERS DOESN'T CHARGE ME SQUAT FOR USING MY CREDIT CARD

(but I do pay for 6 months at a time if that matters)

My father pays his GEICO Auto Insurance bills with a credit card and never got charged a surcharge.

He makes a one-time payment whenever he gets an e-mail prompt (and the paper bill arrives in the mail shortly after).

Amica now takes credit cards

I'm gonna' have to ask some of these companies why they don't worry about...
