I haven't read the article yet - are they talking about BYOB places (some are really nice) that don't have their own liquor license?

"Bring your own wine" means at many restaraunts you can bring your own wine and they charge you an "opening fee" or whatever it is called. Last time I did it I paid maybe 3-5 dollars

I like the tip about not buying the latest piece of technology off the rack. It's insane how a lot of people do that. After a year or a few months you'll look back and think it was a big mistake. The second version of the model works much better than the first.
