I was approved online for this account and I have 3 unpaid entries on chex

They said ill receive an email shorty with my account info/online access...so I am still catiously optimistic... just incase they manually review this. Also, they have the option with funding with a debit card which is nice.

If this goes through... I will now have BOA and SunTrust with an ugly chex file... suntrust was also an online app..

just a heads up to those trying to get approved somewhere

It should go through for you. It worked for me.

I have had over 30 people indicate to me that they have had accounts that were closed. We believe EWS is the causing factor even though some are being told they are closing due to chexsystems
Napoleon23
mca, any word how long after the account is open that BOA is coming around and closing them?
mca
no not really..so far it varies. some are rigth away, others are months, a year and one was even almsot 2 years old

I had mine for 1 1/2 to 2yrs. have multiple chexsystem entries and BoA still opened one. they did however run my credit which is what they used to open my account.

i'm pretty sure you're safe.

I even opened a 2nd checking with boA and they opened it with 0 issues.

It looks as if you are fine with Bank Of America as long as you are not reported to EWS. This is what is happening lately

hmm well what does EWS stand for?

Early Warning Systems ( previously Primary Payment Systems ) is now being used by banks and credit unions the same as chexsystems. Along with other participating organizations, they now share information about potential customers that may be a risk through Identity Check . Identity check distinguishes high-risk individuals from profitable customers the same as chexsystems.

Several organizations have partnered with Early Warning Services to help increase awareness and make the following services more accessible to credit unions. Here is a list of partners they are in collaboration with currently. As you can see this includes many, many credit unions that were once chex-friendly. CO-OP Financial Services who is listed as a partner with EWS also signed a multi-year contract with eFunds Corp(chexsystems) April 2007. Many people that are reported to chexsystems are also reported to EWS.

EWS meets the FCRA definition of a credit reporting agency. Send a dispute letter - certified, return receipt disputing what is in their database. They must investigate and verify with the bank or credit union as to what they are reporting. They have 30 days to respond.

Those wishing to obtain consumer report information should contact their Consumer Call Center at 800-325-7775. From what I have been told it is much easier to get a copy of your report with EWS than it is with Chexsystems. Apparently they will email you a form that you can mail or fax back to them. From what I have been able to tell, if you are reported to chexsystems then chances are good that you are reported to EWS. This seems especially true of those that have a Chexsystems report that has fraud indicated on it.

Early Warning Services is a limited liability company owned by Bank of America, BB&T Corporation, JPMorgan Chase, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo.
