Full Version: I'm in rehab!

I just spent an hour or so searching here and didn't find this answer, so sorry if it's somewhere.

I have some old defaulted loans from PHEAA/AES that got moved to Diversified Collection Services. These loans are no longer reporting but have been garnished now for several years. I recently took a job with another company. I decided t call DCS and tell them I resigned (I won't be paid at the new commission-only job for several months so I did not tell them about it) but would like to make arrangements. He offered rehab for only 154 a month and I accepted. I got my final paycheck last Friday and they had stopped garnishing already. I have made two payments and the paperwork is on its way to me.

Any chance, once rehab is completed, these loans reappear on my reports as paid as agreed, or should I expect no CR change? I'm hoping for a lot here, I know, but what the hell.

And I guess there's a chance collection fees are removed from what I read? That'd be cool.

Pretty excited and relieved no matter what. I took care of one last year but these are the biggies.

Actually no chance that the collection fees will be removed. That only applies to direct loan borrowers....you have a ffelp loan.
