My credit has been in the crapper since the early 90s due to irresponsibility and medical bills collected from my wife's fight with cancer. We overcame that and we are now overcoming our credit problems!
I found CB a couple of years ago when I was just learning about my credit and how important it was, my average FICO was in the low 500s. A buddy of mine pushed me to start dealing with the issues that were haunting me and to find someone to "fix" it. Fortunately, I'm kindof a hands-on type of guy and I've always known that nothing is too far out of reach if you do your research and learn. So that's what I did, got on here daily and read and read and read about all the things I didn't know about credit and how to straighten out all the negatives I had collected.
I started writing letters, disputing issues and taking care of the ID Theft that I found. Slowly but surely the trade lines cleaned up, dropped off or were deleted and my score began to recover. Today I sit in the lower end of the mid-600s and on the rise. I was able to buy a new truck a few months back and today was approved for an Orchard Bank CC with a humble $320 limit. It's the first true credit card I've had in almost 20yrs and I now know how to make proper use of it and make it work for ME.
