Early Warning Systems ( previously Primary Payment Systems ) is now being used by banks and credit unions the same as chexsystems. Along with other participating organizations, they now share information about potential customers that may be a risk through Identity Check . Identity check distinguishes high-risk individuals from profitable customers the same as chexsystems.

Several organizations have partnered with Early Warning Services to help increase awareness and make the following services more accessible to credit unions. Here is a list of partners they are in collaboration with currently. As you can see this includes many, many credit unions that were once chex-friendly. CO-OP Financial Services who is listed as a partner with EWS also signed a multi-year contract with eFunds Corp(chexsystems) April 2007. Because of this many that are reported to chexsystems will also be reported to EWS.

Those wishing to obtain consumer report information should contact their Consumer Call Center at 800-325-7775. From what I have been told it is much easier to get a copy of your report with EWS than it is with Chexsystems. Apparently they will email you a form that you can mail or fax back to them. From what I have been able to tell, if you are reported to chexsystems then chances are good that you are reported to EWS. This seems especially true of those that have a Chexsystems report that has fraud indicated on it.

You don't even have to have any former or previous accounts .. ever. Bank of america closed my youngest daughters account 1 week after she opened it because she has the same last name as her sister and her sister has a bank of america checking account that had fraudulent charges/checks written against it. That account was closed with a negative balance of $297. for account abuse in 2006. Now my youngest daughter is only 17 and wanted to get a BoA account so she could start a banking relationship as she wants to buy a house at 21 and wanted to get established with a local Bank with good products. Well pooh on you BoA.. And Whoot to PNC. PNC will be getting all her business, mortgage, auto loans, student loans.. the whole caboodle.
