Alright. Due to some crazy history, I am listed in Chex. I also have fairly crappy credit at the moment so that isn't helping things either.
I have an account with Fidelity but my new employer is rather small and does not offer DD. Other than Bank of America and US Bank, does anyone know of a national bank (or a local one) who might offer an approval even for just a basic savings (so that I can deposit my check and transfer it to my fidelity account)?
I really don't want to be bankless now that I am working again.
I checked out the lists available but I was just wondering what other people experienced. Thanks!

I can tell you that I have had a lot of feedback on OREGON COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION ...if you are eligible for membership, this may be one worth trying. I am not sure exactly where you are in Oregon.

I am eligible but I am concerned about their credit requirements. I know they use EQ and my score is way low (sub 600 easily) on there.
Like I said, all I really need is a savings account (not sure if they do credit checks for savings) so that I can deposit my check and then I can wire it to Fidelity.
Very disappointed that my new job doesn't do DD. Craziness. But I needed work and I would rather be unable to bank with Fidelity than unable to pay my rent, ya know?

I don't think they are picky about credit at all. So far no one has ever told me that they were denied. Most credit unions will open a savings based on eligibility alone. I would definitely give them a try
