Hi I am new to the forum and I wanted to know if you are approved for a Federal Student Loan if you can also receive a Direct loan from DOE? Also per school year are you only allowed one student loan period or one loan per place you borrow from. Right now I am awaiting disbursement of my student loan thru Sally mae. Thanks for any help.

If you're getting a federal loan from Sallie Mae, you cannot get another one from Direct Loans. The amount you qualified for based on your FAFSA is the total amount of federal loans you can get for the year.
