I have a younger brother who had some money management problems and is a ChexVictim. We are in NW Indiana and he needs a checking account but would certainly use a savings if that is all he can do.

EVEN if it is an Internet bank, he needs direct deposit for his paychecks which his employer requires now. I have spent HOURS going through every webpage I can find and calling every institution I can -but they all say the same: You are in Chex, you are outta luck with them. Unless you can provide evidence you paid the reported account, of course.

Numerous disputes will NOT remove these two stickies he has, both from 2006(not sure what month) and fortunately now, he shouldn't have this problem again.

The boy needs a debit card and account. Let's help him, okay?

Herloss there is a nationwide list that will approve anyone on my site www.chexvictims.net and also a state listing on my site below. WoodForest might be a good local option there, they offer secnd chance checking. There is another one that I can suggest but I do not post it on my list at all in worries that they will be swamped with new account applications. This has been the case more than once with some banks and credit unions that I post. It is a credit union. You can email me at chexsystemsvictims@yahoo.com for that information if needed.

I have an unpaid entry in Chexsystem. I read in this forum that BOA approves accounts for people in Chexsystem if you apply online, but not if you apply at a branch.

I applied online for an account and was approved. I have had my account since May of this year.

They did a hard pull on EX, but as you can see, my credit profile is very bruised, but I was still able to get a proved. The hard pull may be jut for verification purposes only.

YMMV

btw...thanks mca for all your hardwork and dedication.

You are TOTALLY correct. Coincidentally, they JUST opened a WOODFOREST right by my brother's and I took him there today. He walked out with a checking account, Debit card in the mail -and a box of checks on the way. No matter the fee's...... which are a small price to pay when you are F'ed and need an account.

Thanks for the advice - and would it be asking too much to have you PM me that credit union you spoke of?

BTW: Your website is PHENOMENAL. Tryuly a help to countless and a stab in the heartless chest (and crooks that Deluxe/Chexsystems/banks that use them are) of the Chex Monster. I tip my hat to you.

The "myth" about Bank of America approving via the WEB with BAD credit AND ChexSystem listings is TOTALLY

TRUE.

I saw it myself, THREE people I know and recommended did it this weekend, all have open checking and savings TODAY. They DID have to verify some Lex/Nex type questions... but they all got approved. Applied via the web.

This IS indeed a nice "backdoor".... I sure hope it is NOT abused and over-used.

Thanks for the PM, BTW.
