San Francisco got sick of the check cashing places ripping off the poor. The local govt got together with local banks and created a program where practically anyone can get a bank account, even if they have chexsys and other problems in the past.

yes I have seen the list as well but some the banks listed will not only deny you if you are reported to chexsystems, but others like WAMU and WELLS Fargo will open accounts and close them later.
Bank of America-will approve anyone at this time reported to chexsystems as long as you do not owe them money
Bank of the West-uses chexsystems and will deny if you are reported
Citibank-uses chexsystems and will deny
Mission Area Federal Credit Union-will check into this one
Mission National Bank-will check into this one
Northeast Community Federal Credit Union-uses chexsystems and will deny
Patelco Credit Union-uses chexsystems and will deny
San Francisco Federal Credit Union-uses chexsystems and will deny
Spectrum Federal Credit Union-uses chexsystems and will deny
Sterling Bank and Trust-will deny anyone on chexsystems
United Commercial Bank-will deny anyone on chexsystems
Union Bank of California-will deny anyone on chexsystems unless record is 3 yrs old and has not fraud reported
US Bank-will deny anyone on chexsystems (some US BANK locations approve-"in store locations" generally
Washington Mutual-will open accounts and close them later because of chexsystems(do NOT trust this one at all)
Wells Fargo-has a second chance checking but many have reported to open accounts that are later closed by loss prevention.

I opened a Citibank account almost two months ago and opened one for DH this past week, do you know how long it will take for them to close the account if they were going to? I do know they asked for lots of documentation from him but not from me....hmmm
If it has been more than a month, I don't believe you have anything to worry about.
