I have a student loan through the State of TX that has been paid off since March 206. Before that time I had many, many late payments (as much as 150 days late). They never offered any rehab or removal of deliquencies...just demanded payment. I paid it off finally but these lates are killing me. I have 3 150 days late, 5 120 day lates, 8 90 day lates, 13 60 day lates, and 9 30 day lates. I tried disputing with the CRAs as obsolete but it didn't work. My first late payment was October of 2001, last was Jan 2006. Any ideas how to get rid of this??? Does the State of TX do goodwill?? This is one of the last baddies on my report and its killing me!
Thanks so much for any help!

Was this TGSLP? Texas Guarenteed Student Loan Program? If so, that would mean you were in default and as such they wont remove the lates. They will naturally age off 7 years after they occured and the tradeline itself will drop off 7 years after your default or claim paid date.
They are not required to offer rehab.....often you have to ask for it.

Yes, it was TGSLP. And, yes I guess I was in default...I honestly don't remember but at 150 days late its likely, huh. Guess I'm out of luck and will have to wait for it to age off. Crap.

When you default, you are generally 280 days late, but I believe the CRA's cap it at 180 days.
