Full Version: Question re Carfax vs. Reality

My car has been in 2 rear-ended fender benders, but they are NOT reporting on Carfax. Considering this I have a few questions.

1. Should I or should I not tell the dealer I'm trading the car into about this?
2. Will this be a mute issue since the back of the car was repainted making it look glossier than the front part of the car?
3. How much should I expect that this will hurt what I get the dealer to pay off?

How many people were killed in the accident is probably what they'll ask you. ohmy.gif

Body work will make the vehicle worth less.

huh.gif No one died!

The paint isn't even, so it could use one complete paint job or a good compounding and wax job. I'm thinking it may not be worth it to put the money into the car. It may be worth putting the money down on the new car. wink.gif

I can spot paint work a mile away. Leave it alone. Just explain what happened. Best to put the money down on the purchase transaction.
