Ok, I need a little help. I've been all through here for the past few weeks for hours on end reading trying to find something even somewhat similar. So, if I may have missed a thread that could help me, I'd appreciate a link if you have no answers. I'll try to keep it short but detailed...

I had a loan with AES/PHEAA/TERI in Dec of 03. This loan defaulted in Jul of '06 due to me transferring schools in Jan of '06 and them not getting the info somehow. This loan is now being passed along from JDB to JDB. At least 10 since defaulting. I DV/Dispute the CAs they come off the CR and are passed to the next. Some don't even give me time to validate before the next one's calling/sending letters. Many don't report either. I had one CA send me a half a** validation, in which I discovered AES doesn't even have the original contract any longer. I dispute AES, they validate every time. Even sent me a fraud packet once. I called them about it and they said that if I had any further dispute with information on my CR to take it up with the CRA. I told them not so politely it shouldn't be on there anyway, they tell me to call TERI. I call TERI and all their prompts either run me back through the same 2 menus, lead me to a voicemail, mailing address, and/or fax #, or simply HANG UP IN MY FACE! mad.gif I want it either corrected to the status it SHOULD be (which is deferred) or it needs to be deleted. What are my options???

It can't be deferred if you're in default. Once you defaulted, you lost deferment privileges. It looks like it's reporting correctly to me. Your best bet would be rehab or consolidation and letting time pass to lessen the impact it's having on your reports until it falls off.

For starters, student loans are never sold to JDBs. When you defaulted, AES PHEAA filed a claim with TERI. AES PHEAA is entitled to report to the CRA as the defaulting lender.

For validation, you need to go thru the CA handling the account. Validation consists of the prom note...that is pretty well all you will get.

The loan will not be taken out of default....too much time has past. Generally you have 60 days to have the loan repurchased.

TERI will file suit against you if you do not get this paid off in short order. Unfortunately rehab and consolidation is not an option for private loans.

Sorry, it didn't register that it was private. It's late, never mind me blush.gif
