WTH do I do in a situation like this. I have a payment agreement with Progressive financial and Now A law firm is trying to collect on the same sallie mae loan. Is there a law about this that i can get these suckers on or what. Any help is appreciated. BTW this is 1400 days delinquent and SLM will not rehab.

Is this a private or federal loan? It sounds private as law firms rarely become involved with federal loans. If it is private it is not a matter of SM not being willing to rehab....there just is no rehab program with private loans.

It is quite possible that after you made the payment agreement with the CA, SM pulled it and placed it with the law firm. Have you talked to the CA to see if they still have the account? Or have you called SLM? Or could there be more than one loan.

Only OC's keep track of days since default with student loans.
