Full Version: Hurting my score??
CreditBoards > Financing > Student Loans

My loans were transfered a dozen times starting 2000 until I consolidated in Dec 2007. Does this hurt my score or is it no biggie? Theyre all report transferred/sold.

Im seeing a few double reportings but reporting good for a year... should I leave it or have the double taken off?

Should I have the ones removed that last reported over 7 years ago and only for 3-4 months and were transfered?

All are in good standing (or were)... its just an annoyance to me to have all these there.

Is your debt load being artificially increased?

If they are showing as 0 balance, and you don't have any lates on them, I would keep them.
Having a "thicker" file with more accounts in good standing is always helpful, and also older accounts will help your avg age.

All 0 balances (thanks to clean up I did)

OK, I'll leave it. Thanks!

Are they all "good" TLs with no bad info? If none, I can't say you made a bad decision to leave as is.

Theyre all good. They have been in deferrment for years and kept getting transfered. Some TLs only reported for a month or 2. Theyre all closed and some are still showing high balances. Does that matter? (I think no?)

In Dec I consolidated them all into one loan and started making payments in Jan.

You're right, I believe. It does not matter.
