Long story short, I applied for membership through a credit union and it was approved. I received my account number and was told to go to a local credit union and make my deposit for funding which I did. I then applied for an auto loan through them and it was it also was approved and I was told they would overnite me the check yesterday so I would have it today and I could go ahead and pick out the car I wanted. Last night I went and picked out the car and told them my financing was already in place and they had me leave a $500 deposit they credited towards the sale price when I brought the check up. This morning I get a call from the credit union and was told sorry but my account and loan was now denied due to a chex systems entry and now I have a new car in my driveway and their holding my $500 deposit and are saying they wont refund it to me unless I let them handle the financing or find financing somewhere else today. My question is this. Chex systems is reporting an entry of "Transactions involving items belonging to a deceased party" which Im assuming stems from a chargeoff I had from a credit union 4 or 5 years ago that I was able to get cleaned up on my report but they are reporting this somehow on chex systems. It is obviously reporting incorrectly and Im assuming the credit union just reported it this way to screw me like they are currently doing. Can the credit union I had the charge off with report a charge off in this manner knowing it obviously had nothing to do with a deceased party or is this just simply the way it reports through chexsystems if you have a charge off. Right now I cant apply to any bank or credit union for financing since they will obviously see the same thing and more than likely decline me because of this entry so I stand to lose my $500 deposit unless I want to take the financing the dealership got me approved for at 11.9 instead of the 5.49 through the credit union. Does anyone have any suggestions or know a way to get this cleared up on chexsystems ASAP or am I just SOL.
Thanks
