my payment was deferred but i took off from school for a year and my payments started.
so i made one payment and asked them to extend my deferment which they did.
today i checked my credit report and they reported me 30 days late when i paid before the 30 days..
what should i do?

complain complain... Make sure you hold them to the letter.
One problem I ran into was I had posted a payment late (first payment, changed address, lost track of it, noticed it in a general review of my accounts), but less than 30 days. However, they decided to take an excessively long time to post the payment and had the nerve to tell me they can take as long as they want, or that the bank had to clear it... (the check was FROM the bank). I complained for months and had limited luck, but a year later now after my complaints and disputing twice, I've gotten it removed from all 3 CRs.

How long do late payments of student loans stay in your credit? or how long till it gets removed?
