I wonder how soon federal will get my money? I did have it down as dd, so I wonder if the check will go to them in the same time frame. Guess I could always call and find out.
It would just be nice the sooner the better plus it would get my CRA updated and cleared up.

It does not matter when one filed as long as it was done by April 15. What matters is the last 2 digits of your SS# and whether or not you did direct deposit.

We didn't get anything either our lst is 20. I'm concerned because we didn't get a letter.
I was listening to the stimulus information on the phone with the IRS and it says we should recieve a letter a week before we get the money. Has everyone gotton a letter?? cause we didn't

Talked to IRS yesterday about DS & they said letter or no letter, didn't matter. If you're eligible, you'll get it.
A letter was no guarantee that you'd receive it either. In case they decide to snag the rebate between the letter & the dd.
08 & still nothing today.

What I believe that they are referring to is a letter telling you that the stimulus payments are coming (I received one of these a month or so ago) and that it was an 'important IRS document' and to keep it for your records. It was sort of a reminder to let you know to look out for it after tax season is over, if you are 'eligible'.

It's always said that on their website, though, even since mid March. Thats the problem. They moved it up, but they haven't updated their schedule or indicated if it was just the first weeks deposits that got moved up, or all of them, or if all the DD's would be done in a week-the language going to papers and news sources seems to say one thing, and the website says what it always has said.

Umm, I'm sure this topic has been discussed before - maybe even in this thread.
But I was under the impression that this money WAS NOT meant to be applied to monies owed to the IRS. It is FREE money and has nothing to do with you repaying the IRS if you owed money.
This came from an IRS agent. This was my second call because I do owe from 06 and called to find out if I qualified to receive one and about changing banking information. The first call I was told I wouldn't get it because I owed. A friend told me that was incorrect and that she confirmed diff with an agent. I then called again and got the answer my friend gave.
Can someone clear this up for me?
Thanks

Unfortunately you were given bad info. If you owe back taxes they will apply this money to that debt. Same rules as for regular refunds.

Does it really make a difference when you receive the money as long as you receive it?
It's only a small amount of money, not going to change anybodies life. If you really need it this month chances are you will really need it next month and the month after and so on.
