I have 4 medical collections (1 year or less old) that are on my credit report. 3 of them I acknowledge as mine and I have every intent on paying them (2 of them completely and 1 I will have to make arrangements for).
I have this other one which chaps my hide... We had medical insurance and my son (the dork) got a bead stuck in his ear

so my husband took him to the ER. At the counter where you register to be seen, my husband paid our 100 co-pay. After seeing this on my credit report I went back through my stack on bills and found this one. I had an HMO so once my co-pay is paid I am DONE... However, this place got paid by my insurance company and is trying to collect from me as well for the "balance"...
My question is that I should be able to fight this one through the hospital correct with a copy of the copay receipt?
I am going to read more on the HIPAA stuff regarding the other 3 but my main concern was this one that I should NOT be owing for...
