Sharefax Credit Union now verifies employment for membership. I used Avon as an employer about 3 weeks ago and I never heard anything back, so I called them today to check the status and found out that they now verify employment for membership. If you are a resident or have an immediate family member that is a resident you can sign up with no problems. I live in Santa Ana California and my mother is a resident in Cincinnati and she qualifies. She just had knee surgery and has been in rehabilitation for the past month. When she goes home she will apply for an account and I will sign up as a relative under her. I don't think they are verifying employment on any old accounts, just new accounts thats been recently opened. For now, I will look for another account to open in California. Although I opened an account with Wachovia while in chexsystem (now showing disputed), I wanted a back up account just in case Wachovia do a sweep on new accts and freeze or close mine. Fortunely my account is still open for almost a month now, maybe it's because of the dispute showing. Thanks MCA for all your help and I notice that Sharefax is no longer showing up on www.chexvictims.net. Maybe this is the reason why.

I see. I figured they would eventually sooner or later catch on to it. But I did find out that someone in Georgia applied using Avon recently and they got approved with an account number but, a couple of days ago he tried logging on to his account and it was frozen. He called Sharefax and they said it would be frozen until they verified his employment with Avon. He got the debit card in the mail today and logged back onto his account and notice that his account was no longer frozen. I wonder if it had anything to do with his account already being opened. He doesn't work for Avon. Either way I heard such great things about this CU and will sign up under my mother who lives in there in Cincinnati. I did call them and spoke with Rachel and she said I could sign up under an immediate relative even if I live out of state.
