Thank you drained for the suggestion!
We applied and were approved for a checking account with Bank of America! We applied online since there are no branches in our state. It will simply be an online account but at least it's something! We have one thing in Chexsystems and terrible, awful credit. We got the approval email and they said we'd be getting some things in the mail to sign and send back. Just to let anybody know who may need a checking account but can't get one locally (like us). I've never used an out of state bank before so this will be new. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks again!!

I've never been on Chex and didn't know such a beast even existed until I started read CB a couple years ago.
I think you'll like BofA. I've been with them several years (local branches and online), and have nothing but positive things to say about them.
The online bill pay, account access and account management is top notch.
Congrats!

Thank you!

My best friend is through them (there are branches in her state though) and she has great things to say about them as well. I'm just a little leary about not having a branch to go to but, if I can transfer from my savings account then it should be all right and only include one extra step.

More and more people are starting to be declined by Bank of America in the past few months due to both Chexsystems and EWS. There are still some that are being approved ..............It is always best to apply at banks that do not use chexsystems if at all possible if you are reported to chexsystems.
When a person applies for an account at a bank that uses Chexsystems and is denied, it shows up as an inquiry on your report. Too many inquiries on your report can cause Chexsystems to "flag" your account for suspicious activity. It is very important to know where you can and can not get an approval at prior to applying at a bank.
IN WI really suggest TCF if you do not owe them any money they will open an account for you

Hi mca, I couldn't find a bank (both on your list and through google) in Flint, Michigan that didn't take them. One credit union here didn't but our credit scores weren't high enough. Siiiiiiiiiiigh.
I'm sorry you were declined, debtfull.

I really love BOA! I applied for MyAccess checking and savings last year in July and was approved. I currently have a checking/savings/custodial account and a secured Visa.
CONGRATS!
they are great!

Hi mca.

As far as I know. I don't even know how to check any other systems. When I was going through my paperwork for the lawyer I really READ one of the letters from Chase and they said they were going to report us to Chex. When we tried to get a checking account - because life would be much easier with one - the banks told us we were in Chex.
Thank you in advance for any help! I really appreciate it.
