kinda long story.....

She had 3 kids with me. When we divorced (7 years ago) she took the settlement and bought a house for cash (no loan). then she got sally mae student loans to go to culinary school. She did not complete that process and never got a degree. She has a 4th child (3years old) and stays home taking care of him. She has not had any real income in this time (4k a year at most).

It's been many years of deferrments and now they are about to sue her. The interest rate is very high and she owes approx 60k in debt, and I doubt has paid much of anything on it.
They are telling her they can put a lien on her home. Is this true? She lives in Texas.

Any chance she can get a harship discharge?

Sounds like a private loan and as such there would be no discharges of any kind. Yes they will sue and more than likely would lien the home.
