I have 5 collection accounts from the same CA from hospital bills for services in 2006. I know they are related to the birth of my child and My childs doctors visit. I was laid off from my job and did not have insurance. I dont remember what excatly each account on my credit report is for and what services was given.
I know however that I was covered during my birth and don't know why the insurance did not cover some expenses.
I recently disputed with the CRA's and sent a DV to the CA.
CRAS hasnt verified yet.
The CA responded back with a letter asking for my signature due to HIPPA regulations. Should I resend them my dispute with my sig?
I am just reading about whychats HIPPA. and want to takle the smaller amounts(under$100) using this method. Is it too late?

CAs aren't bound by HIPPA. I wouldn't sign a darned thing for them.

Are they on your credit reports??
They are not permitted to release the requested information to you unless they have your signature.

The HIPAA letter program will allow you to pay the OC original health care provider and get it off your reports.
In order to use the HIPAA letter program you must NOT provide the CA with your signature, or enter into any agreement with them to pay them anything.

Opt out
Delete old addresses from your reports

Contact your insurance Co. and get a complete accounting of what was submitted and what was paid.
Send the CRA's where any medical accounts are reporting the medical dispute letter

If any are fully verified, you can then pay them to the OC with the HIPAA letter insert "a" if your insurance indicates a legitimate balance due, or insert "b" with a copy of the insurance accounting to prove that you do not owe them anything.
