Greetings board,
Marv, this is a question i have for you, i took your advise from about a month ago, and went to the dealership instead of trying to get it myself, went to a dealership, from a vehicle i found online, its a franchaised Ford dealers, got the ford app faxed, i filled it out, sent it back with two years of tax returns, copy of identification, copy of drivers license, my admission by the ssa, that i had a identity problem, and that credit on my credit report may not be mine, as admitted by the ssa.
Currently i have a house, totalling 200k on my credit through chase mortgage
A paid off car from 1999 through americredit
my student loan totalling about 9k,
no collections
a public record of a bankruptcy from 2003, which isnt mine, but the credit bureaus are not really working with me
a foreclosure, from 2003, which isnt mine, but says paid off, through bankruptcy, imagine that.
So the finance manager sent me a email saying that he had two approvals in hand and was working on them, well i can only imagine that was a lie at this point, because if you had two approvals, then you would be getting with me a list of things i needed to get in order to finish it off. The salesman just emailed me, saying that he had a approval through drive financial, for 5800 down, and 720 per month for 72 months, on a 4 year old car, well thats beyond my means. So i asked what happen to the other APPROVAL, in that i do have a PHD, so i do understand approval, now there isnt a answer to my question. I subscribe to a monitoring service after all that has happen, and no alert has occurred, which makes me a little suspious of exactly what is the truth.
Can you provide me with some insight, in that i believe at this point, that all that i have been told is untruth. I a home free and clear, i just brought another one, I followed those steps, and what i believe is that i fell into worst than, i started.

The lag time on approvals is very minimal.
If you went to the Ford dealer, why would you fax an app and send it back.
You trying to accomplish this via fax and email?

This is what they offered me, does this sound like a deal or just something made up, checked my credit report through triple advantage, other than the original pull nothing. The ford dealer is in Fla, i am in south carolina, so its being handled by fax, and email.
He is a breakdown on what we have working.
Bank #1
$27105 Total amount financed at 22.99% Interest for 72 months with a bank fee of $1994. The deal is $28,898 plus the fee ($1994) equals $30,983 plus tax, tag and dealer fee (as stated in the auction). Tax based on South Carolina not exceeding $300. For this to work I need $4,830 down to get to the $27,105 out the door. (I intended to put the $4830 in the first email not the $5830)
From this first one, it sounds like the dealer fees, total 2500 dollars, which i think is outrageous.
Bank #2
Up to 50% of trade value not to exceed 16% of monthly gross income. The NADA trade value is around $32,000. To get to this I would need about $15,000 down.
This doesnt sound like financing at all, if i had 15,000 to put down, i would just spend 15000.00 in cash and call it a day.

Depends on whether you perceive it as a good deal or not....Tier 4 you can expect state cap for your state.

In the car business, this is called a "left hand turn down". Basically, we don't wanna tell you "I can't get you approved".

I just dont know what to do at this point based upon the last responder, it seems like i am getting the run around of sorts, they are telling me something imaginary, now with the ford thing, I believe a little of it, since ford called the job to verify employment, time, and salary information, which they faxed with my consent. I see from the credit monitoring that they faxed my deal to 7 different lenders, so it tells me that someone just is into faxing, and hoping, instead of knowing whats good, and bad. they sent it to city savings and loan, americredit, hsbc, capitalone, and until i asked why they didnt send it to ford, the hadnt done it.
If this sounds like a bunch of ----, someone please tell me, so i can move on. they are selling me a used 2005 E500 mercedes, so i asked or stated to the salesman if it would be better to buy a new truck, that would be fine, he got defensive.

Your situation does'nt sound unusual when your credit is not great. Sometimes it takes an F&I person a few banks to get your deal done. Talk to your F&I person (Not the Salesman) about options as far as getting your deal bought. Ask him/her is there anything you can do on your end to make things go a little smoother. Also let s/he know that you are flexible in vehicle.

Thanks,
In your original post you mentioned you had an identity descrepency or problem that required the SSA to provide you with documentation. It appears that Ford is just taking cautious measures in making sure they are actually dealing with you and not someone who is commiting identity theft. So, they are basically protecting you and their interest in this transaction. No big deal. send the paperwork.
This also will be a requirement for those with fraud alerts on their CB's

And to compound your problem, you are trying to conduct/finalize this long distance rather than upfront and personal.
Those are exceeding difficult, and I seldom have the patience, simply because something usually always goes wrong at the last minute, and I've expended my efforts for naughts. I would much rather deal with someone local and face to face.
Good luck.
