Hello everybody, I got linked to this messageboard from FW and I've been reading plenty; there's too much to learn at this place!

I need help though. I just applied for a private loan through Astrive and I used my mom as a co-signer. We got approved for preliminary and they are asking for a paystub. I marked her 'Unemployed (w/income)' because she's retired and gets a check in the mail every month. I tried to mess with the other option (which is Unemployed (no income)) but the Gross Annual Income box didn't go away either way. From what I know she doesn't have a W-2 and I don't think she got one either (would it make sense if it did?)

So has anyone ever been in the situation? I will call Astrive tomorrow as they're closed atm, I'm just curious as to whats coming up. Hopefully they will want to just see a copy of her check she gets in the mail every month...

hi i applied for a private loan, not with astrive but with sallie mae. i did the same thing with my co-signer. i marked unemployed with income. they get money from the state of california and the state of california doesn't do a year to date income, only a monthly check. so i sent in the copy of the check they received and it was accepted. hope this helps.
