Hi everybody!

I took out student loan on 2007. I'm going to file my tax return soon, do I have to put the student loan amount at all when filing tax return? Is it necessary? If it is, do I have an option not to mention it at all? Me and my husband are going to file joint tax return, he was so against student loans but I needed it no matter what. He ended up being okay with it, but I only tell him half amount of the student loan I took (so he won't be worry too much, for good sake). I only took federal student loan by the way.

Thanks

Student loans like all consumers loans, are not declared on taxes.
