Full Version: No Longer Able to discharge Private Student Loans

Could anyone tell me " In what year was the bankruptcy law changed so that a person could no longer discharge a Private Student loan by a Chapter #7 Bankruptcy. I'm talking Private (SallieMae), not Government- Funded student loan. Was the BK law changed in 1998 or was it 2005, It was one of those 2 years but I'm not sure which one, where a person could no longer file BK on Private student loans without 1st going thru a hardship hearing.
