I called the Merrick Bank Credit Department On Friday which is yesterday. The CSR from the credit department told me that I need to faxsome verfication documents. I did fax them at about 2:30 pm eastern time and then at 7:00 pm eastern time the same day I was listening to my voicemail box on my cell phone and someone from Merrick Bank left a message at 4:30pm and said to call him at such and such number because he wanted to talk to me about my application and the documents I faxed. I tried to call back but the office was closed. So was just curious if this means that I am declined or anything else?

If they call back wanting to talk about docs, that means they have questions, and may need more docs or info.
They are not going to call you back to verbally advise you they are denying your app... they do that by sending a letter or email that's very polite and even more vague.
