Hi everyone....first post here but I searched & searched and could not find a previous answer to this situation. After being told that I could not re-hab my loans...(I think that was a lie)....and my only option was to consolidate, all my old loans are reporting a $0 balance with a 120-day late status. The 12-24 month history on all of them show paid as agreed?? I'm assuming because it was garnishment. None of the old loans (talking original loans...not the consolidation line) have a date in the Date of Last Activity field. If I dispute the final 120-day late status because of the 24 month history showing I-1 will that be successful? What is my option with the lines that have no DLA listed? Is that a reason for Equifax to delete the item?
Thanks for your input!!!!

In my experience, I have been able to get the late status and the charge off status of my pre-consolidated defaulted loans changed only if they were not being reported by the guaranty agency. The guaranty agency tl's keep getting verified as negative. I was able to get the tl's that were by student loan lenders other than the guaranty agency (original creditor, banks that the loan was transferred to etc...) to either be deleted or to report as positive. Experian in my experience is the worst at removing student loan tl's.
I reported the tl's as "never late" and the non-guaranty agency tl's have for the most part been updated to positive/closed status. I was able to dispute a few of them as "not mine" but for the most part this has not worked for me, since they have my social security number attached to the loan.
Consolidation will not remove the negative comments the way that rehabbing the loan does.

Thanks for the quick answer! Just looking for a little more detail from someone if I could on the 'no date in the DLA field' situation please. Isn't there a requirement to have a DLA recorded otherwise these items could remain indefinitely instead of having a 7 yr timeframe on the report?? Any ideas or input as to how to proceed is greatly appreciated!

I'm sorry if the answer is elsewhere so if I should be looking in a different forum on this site, please point me elsewhere....but as for the guarantee agency not reporting a DLA in any of the loan report lines....isn't that illegal because even though the loan is paid off (through consolidation loan with Direct)....the no DLA will keep it on the report forever??? Hope I stated that right...been learing it on this board.
