I was wondering if anyone has used cccu for a student loan. I am a parent and am looking for my daughter a loan for her Freshman year at college. My taxes have not yet been completed for last year so I will need to get a private loan I guess. I need about 6k . Any suggestions?

Get your taxes done and do a FAFSA. You will get better rates of interest, plus there might be other aid your daughter might be eligible for!

I will not be able to get them done before she starts school and I will need to pay before she starts. So what would be thet best?

Huh?
If u do the FASFA they may allow you to register if you qualify for grants, loans, etc....I would apply and let them know you submitted and now just waiting...normally you're conditionally allowed to register. May have to pay good faith monies...ask them (school)...

I think it is to late to do FASFA now anyway for this school year.

As for CCCU, I am unsure I have a private loan through Sallie Mae, its not bad just a higher rate.

The 2007-2008 School Year (July 1st, 2007 - June 30th, 2008):

* FAFSA on the Web and Renewal FAFSA on the Web applications must be submitted by midnight Central Daylight time, June 30, 2008

File on line ASAP and submit...apply at school if not accepted already...go to school...have them check (fast track) FAFSA status...if not done wait and just register later if necessary...it doesn't take long...Fed backed loans are worth the wait...

I filled out the FASFA 2 months ago. I had to estimate everything since my taxes were not done. My taxes will not be done until after my daughter goes to college. what do you suggest?

Taxes not done? Are you a business owner?
If not you should be using last years taxes

Be sure to talk to your DD's school finance dept...

I am a business owner and this is why my taxes are not done....I had to file for a extension. I spoke with the college and they said that I would need to get my own ( private loan) and then reinburse myself when the taxes are complete. Any Advice???? CCCU?

For private loans for college, your daughter would be the borrower as she is the student. You might be needed as a cosigner. I believe the only way a parent can take a loan out, is via a Federal PLUS loan.
