Hello,

I am looking for about $15,000 to cover some additional education expenses and need to find a good private student loan. My scores are mid 500s and my cosigner is mid 600s. I will be going to school full-time next semester. Which places offer the best chance of obtaining a loan? I'm thinking of Think Financial, Student Loan Xpress, and Sallie Mae.

Thanks!

My sister and I used Education Finance Partners. The approved us for a $10,000 loan. My score is in the upper 500's and hers is in the mid 600s. Here is their link:

with those scores, i would expect a high interest rate from almost any lender.
sallie mae, would probably be an approval, however i'd shop around because the interest rate would be easily somehwere around 14%. sad.gif try to see if you can get some in person apps going with soft inquiries, i did this through my credit union, to find out possible terms, then go for hards on terms that look best. good luck! smile.gif

I went through Think Financial and obtained a loan at a rate of LIBOR + 5.25%... not too bad. Good luck to everyone on here!

Does anyone know who these lenders pull? I cant seem to get a private loan if my life depended on it.

TERI lenders tend to pull TU, Sallie Mae often pulls EQ but I have heard of them pulling each.
Check the credit pulls database, I have added entries for TERI/Chase Education One and Sallie Mae -- other than a few other, entries are lacking so I know this sorta info is difficult to find. Good luck!

Think Student Loans is TERI backed and pulled my TU.
