My wife recently had a joint replaced in her finger. The joint pulled out of her bone within 5 months and another surgeon had to repair the damage.

I have disputed the charge with the original physician and refused to pay the full amount but he has referred it to a collections agency. I have spoken with several lawyers who will not take the case since it is such a small amount.

I do not want a collection on my credit report so is there anything I can do right now to keep this from happening?

Thanks for the advice.

Opt out, send the OC original physician the balance due with the HIPAA letter, insert "a".
