Full Version: Cancelling extended warranty from dealer

Ok, I think this will be my last question. I'm ready to go back to the dealership and am going to cancel my extended warranty. By doing it through the dealership, will it lower my monthly payments? My first payment is due on 7/22, so I'm not expecting that one to be affected, but how about the payments after that? The warranty company told me I could mail them a letter to cancel, but I know if I do that the money will just come off of the end of my loan, not changing my payments. I want to buy another extended warranty for a better price, but can't afford to do that AND continue with the payments I have now.

Thanks again!

I did the same thing 3 months ago and they just credited to my loan, not changing the payments, but changing the payoff date instead.

NOPE, paymnet won't change. The $'s get credited to the loan amount thereby lowering the total obligation.

We did this too with the dealer within a day or two of buying our Pilot --- it did not change the payment.
