If I take classes at least half time but do not have any current financial aid will this keep my SL in deferment? There maybe a few semesters where I just take some classes at my community college to save some money and I am going to pay for those out of my own pocket.

Eligibility is based on half-time enrollment. Whether or not you take a loan is not an isue.
