They've got a form for making payments online, but it only accepts ach information. sad.gif Should i do it or is that a bad idea? I guess mailing in a check would be a bad idea? Where can i just pay with my debit card? By phone i guess?

Is this a private loan or a government loan? They're pretty strict on the rules for SLs, so, personally, I would have no qualms about doing ACH. In fact, many lenders (at least on the government-backed loan side; I don't know too much about private SL practices at all) reduce your interest rate by around 1/4% if you do auto-debit, which is why I've been doing that for the past 3 years. My loans aren't with Citibank, but I've had no problems at all with it.

Good luck!

yeah it's the gov't stafford's with citibank. Their customer service has been so great to me throughout this entire thing, i just hope they don't turn nutty when i graduate.

So they said credit cards only through paypal with an international address. Other than that, ach online, or check/MO by mail. Reading this forum has just made me wary of sending my bank account info to anyone i owe money to.

If it's staffords, I really wouldn't be concerned about it at all. Do mistakes happen? Sure, that's true with anything (heck, they could accidently scoot the decimal point over one in entering your paper check amount and you'd have the same problem, too!), but it's not all that likely. They've got some very strict rules that they have to abide by to maintain their ability to offer these loans. The issues that most of the rest of the forum brings up are valid, but really aren't applicable here. Customer service is a HUGE decision maker in all of this, so if you're happy with them, then I don't see a reason to change.

Congrats on graduating! Good luck!
