I just wanted to post that I made my 9th student loan payment on the 5th of june and the derogs have been deleted from eq and ex. I have read a few boards where they waited 60-90 days and no update to cra. My reports seem to have updated really fast. I pulled my equifax report and my score went up about 20 points. I have 2 credit cards that are above 50% utilization. so im sure that once i pay them down my score will go up more.

thanks cb!!! yahoo.gif yahoo.gif

I have some neg's on my CR from student loans. Had yours been turned over to collections yet? If so, who do you set the rehab up with? The original lender or the collection company?

That is too cool! I'm getting ready to make payment #5 next week - more than halfway there!

My original loans were with Citibank. The were sent to osi from there. I had to set my rehab up thru osi. Make sure you contact the new servicer and they should be able to set you up with a rehab program. It all depends on the type of loan you had and the company.......good luck

Your original loans were Citibank but they were defaulted back to your guarantor. The guarantor placed them with OSI, a CA.

In order to rehab you need to contact the guarantor or the CA assigned to your loan. Also, as long as your loan is federal it can be rehabbed. It does not depend on the company.

But you HAVE to be in default to rehab. It almost sounds as though you are not in default by your posting. I apologize if I read it wrong but it sounds like you have a current student loan which you have a few lates on. In this case, a rehab would not apply.

To the OP: Congratulations! What a good feeling that must be to have your loans in order. I am working on my 4th payment so I still have a ways to go but I know I will be soooo happy to complete rehab!

On the other hand, my Perkins loan is officially deferred! So I am VERY happy about that, now my credit report can be changed from a collection account to a current account (albeit with some lates listed)...but I'm happy to get rid of that collection account notation on the tradeline!

Also to the OP...if you made your 9th payment on June 5th, your rehab is technically not complete. The payment portion to qualify is done, but it takes time for the paperwork and the funds to transfer. You still may need to make a 10th payment.
