Have made several posts on the student loan forum over the past several years...

Had loans, became disabled.. way negative... rehabed but no dice... filed for Discharge... things got messy...

Finally... since 1996, yeah...that long ago and they are still on my report... some are still negative but DLA is like 6 yrs and 9 mos w/ zero balance... shows some lates on some loans...

Anyways, the rehabed ones and the ones discharged.... received a refund check in the mail for my 12 months of payments.

Kinda cool.

Question: what did you have to do with the conditional discharge people during the 3-years period?

I didn't have to wait three years.... well.. I have waited 11 as you can see...

I applied for Discharge with the lender back in the 90s but they refused to send the paperwork through [which later was discovered was a big NO NO according to statutes] they were required to send it through...the loan holder cannot be the judge of whether or not a person is eligible... they are only paper pushers...

So years went by and after this loan went into default, I applied again [as was being handled by new agency] Dept of Ed granted w/o incident and backdated it... that's why I was given the refund... I had been making payments to rehab defaulted loan for over a year at this point.
