Is it a violation for an OC to provide the CA with medical procedures?
I received a collection notice from a CA and it came with an itemized summary of the bill which also included all previouse visits to the doctor along with every procedure and the costs.
IT shows:
Foreign Body removal/cornea
X-Ray abdomen AP & upright
Urinalysis W/MICRO
Even though it does not provide the diagnosis is the OC allowed to give the CA the medical procedure info?

Yes, as long as that information is ONLY relayed to the patient by the CA.
Once the bill is paid, there is no longer any permitted purpose.
I presume the CA response was to a DV, which has the same effect as a HIPAA release from the patient to the CA.

No it wasn't from a DV.I thought that I DVd this CA but I got them confused with another CA.
This is a 3 year old bill that came out of nowhere.
I had a few other accounts with this CA that have been recently deleted and I think that the CA must have over looked this account until now as it has never been reported and I have never received a bill in all of the 3 years.
