Let me start off by stating that I'm very new to credit repair and don't really understand the hows and whys involved. I don't want to make things any worse than they are, I'm really afraid of making a big mistake and appreciate any and all advice that can be given.

Most of the collection accounts on my report are medical collections, some of which have been posted by junk debt buyers. 5 of them are within SOL for collection or legal action. I've never received a single call or letter about any of these accounts and what I'm posting is all that I know about these accounts. Here are the details:

After reviewing my records, I've realized that these accounts were previously on my CR's, but were apparently removed when I disputed them through the CRA's in August, 2006 (all of the other accounts that I'd questioned and remained on my account have been notated with "Account information disputed by consumer, meets FCRA requirements", like the accounts from M&M Credit,) and then reinserted sometime afterwards.

If I'm correct in my calculations, there's no possible way that these accounts could be mine, because the date that the 7 year reporting period is up tracks back to well before I ever moved to the state. Since it appears that these accounts have been removed and reinserted, should I do the pre-HIPAA still? Or should I dispute with the CRA's and subsequently send a DV to NCO? Or is there something else I should be doing? I'm sorry for all of the questions, but I know that NCO can be hard to deal with and I don't want to make any mistakes.

Again, I don't recognize the OC, but all of my personal records were destroyed and I guess there is a small chance that this is legitimate and I just don't remember it. My name isn't uncommon, so that could change things too. The CA seems legitimate and doesn't appear to be a JDB or anything like that (the VP of the company is sitting on Michigan's Collection Practices board, if that means anything.) I'm thinking I should use the pre-HIPAA letter here as well. Is that right? Or is there another/ better way to deal with this?

These are legitimate collection accounts that I've been paying on since the accounts were opened with the OC and continued with the arrangements when they went to collection. I'd love to have these off of my report but, if I understand correctly, I can't ask for that under HIPAA until they're fully paid (one is paid, so I can hopefully get that one taken off.) Is that right? Or is there a way that I could compell the CA or the OC to remove these prior to that or at least note that they're being paid?

I appreciate any help and advice in regard to these issues.

Your post is a bit confusing. You said you are paying on these accounts, who are you paying?

The one that was paid, who did you pay the OC or the CA?

Have you done the basics of credit repair already? Opting out and deleting old addresses/personal information?
