ok. to make a long story short. Eq deleted this unpaid med collection 20 days ago through the Pre-hipaa process, on the other hand, same collection on TU and they have been reporting it still as "Account information disputed by consumer, meets FCRA requirements" since dec 18th. is this a bad sign or a good sign? i'm just confused on why it still under dispute.

Has TU responded to your dispute??

If not, file a complaint on line with the FTC and state that they have marked the account as in dispute but have not replied to your dispute of an unknown medical account within the mandated time limit.( if you were disputing from a "free" report they have 45 days ).

Redispute, ( CMRR ) with TU, address it to the COMPLIANCE DEPT. send a copy of your original dispute and a copy of the filed FTC complaint.

they sent me the generic automated computer response back on dec 28th that the account was verifed but that was it.

Still marked "in dispute" on the credit report (from TU)
