I recently inquired about Financial Aid for some medical debts, through a local organization. I sent a letter to the OC and got back a letter that said they would forward my "complaint" to XX Collection agency. What is showing on my reports for this debt is YY Collection agency.
This should be an easy delete by dispute. Do others agree? I mean I have a paper that says the reporting CA is not the ones who have the acct.
In typical medical OC fashion, they also said I have to deal with the CA in the letter. All disagreements will be forwarded to the CA. BOO!!! Not a chance in hell I'll be contacting the CA anytime soon. I know who they are, and they have my address already. As they are called "billing companies" by the OC around here. They have had over 20 of my accts since we've been in this state.

You are mistaken.
Your response from the OC CLEARLY says they are forwarding your "complaint" to the CA who has the account listed on your credit reports.
There is NOTHING in that letter that would indicate an "easy delete", just the opposite.
If and when you receive any medical assistance from anyone, please make sure it is sent to the OC with the HIPAA letter insert "a". If they send payment to the OC and that is forwarded/transferred to the reporting CA, it will then appear as a "paid collection" on your reports.

I understand what your saying WhyChat. I was just asking if I could get what is reporting currently deleted because the CA the OC says that has the acct, is not the one currently reporting this acct.
Just on the basis that the wrong CA is currently reporting this debt. I also realize I have most likely opened a can of worms, and will have the new CA reporting shortly. Which is more reason to try to get the other TL deleted, so as not to have a duplicate. DOS is 8/31/02 according to paperwork sent to me from OC.
