okay, so I applied ro a teri loan a couple of weeks ago... they denied me. I turned around and applied with a co-signer. Someone with flawless credit history. They denied me. Does anyone know of any legal cases where someone was denied credit even with a cosigner with perfect credit history? I need to try and show that they should not (possible can not) deny a loan when the co signer meets their criteria...

I need to try to do this today... and would really appreciate as much help as possible
thanks in advance...

TERI is a private lender. They and they alone decide what their criteria is for lending. Your cosigner might have perfect credit but their utilization might be too high or they may have a too high debt in income ratio. They may also be looking at your school and the graduation default rate and the overall costs to complete. If the likelihood is there that you will not graduate and you pose a default risk, they do not want to deal with it. TERI is one of the tougher lenders.

Thanks for hte response. I am learning that they are a tough lender...

my co-signer's credit is perfect.. the % util. is probably at most 20% of her overall avail. 767 Fico.

I think the problem is that they are also factoring in my credit to the equation. Stinks. I am still talking with them...wish me luck....
