I have the fact pattern of paid to a CA on one of DH's medical collections. He saw the doctor mid 2002 and somehow we missed or ignored the bill (it was a crazy time). It went to CA, around 6/03, was paid to CA on 9/03 as soon as we got the CA letters. But now I can't get the thing off for nothing.

Did generic online dispute quite a while ago, (before CB) and EX claimed it was verified. I had such great luck with pre-Hippa and a paid NCO on ALL three of my reports, (even when it had been PI by EX) I thought we would try it again.

Sent pre-HIPPA CM via NetPost on 11/14/06 - Delivered on 11/16/06. Just got letter dated 11/22/06 saying We already investigated this informaition and the credit grantor has verified its accuracy.

I know I need to wait the full 30 days though. If I hear nothing else, what type of letter do I sent to CRA to say "Oh yeah, tell me exactly HOW you verified its accuracy?" Or is that a bad idea? (As an aside, when CRA's claim they wrote to the creditor and that the creditor wrote back, are you entitled to copies of that documentation?)

Next, assuming that this is stuck on that CR, what date should I be verifying it will come off? How many years and from what date? Date the CA got it? (6/03) Date of last payment? (9/03)

Thanks in advance for your help!! I can only imagine how trying it must get to answer the same questions over and over. We all do appreciate you guys!

Yes wait the 35 days. Then you file a complaint on line ( print it out before submitting so you can send a copy to EX. with your redispute).

You complain to the FTC that you have properly disputed an unknown medical account and requested the name of the original creditor and date of service and name of the party charged with this expense from EX and they have refused to properly investigate or respond with the information.Add that their "verification" of said account was non responsive and violated your rights under the FCRA and FACTA.

You then redispute to EX. with a copy of the filed complaint and simply refer to your original dispute's date and file # that they gave you in their response.

Normally reporting SOL starts from the DOFD with OC and its 7 years + 180 days. Since this is medical I am wondering whether it would start from date of service.
